The Band

Who we are and the story thus far...

The Sit-Ins started out as a last minute substitute band in 2008.  Through the power of Captain Nemo and lots of coffee, a supergroup was formed. The idea was to play rock songs with some jam-band music thrown in for good measure. In reality, the band just covered anything and everything they wanted to play within the realm of rock music from the 60's until today.  After the first gig went so well, the band decided to keep it going. While there have been line-up changes and guest musicians, the core of the group continues on. Now let's meet the band...

Anthony Galano

Lead and Rhythm Guitar

Anthony bought a cheap electric guitar and amp with the 6th (or maybe the 9th) paycheck from his first job. He promptly plugged it in, turned it to eleven, hit the strings, and blew out the speaker while breaking a string. True story. It was a hard but valuable lesson that cemented his love for rock. Hours spent woodshedding in his bedroom paid off when only a year and a half later he sat in for his first paid gig with Speedwobble. It's been all bands all the time since coalescing into his current stint with The Sit-Ins. He listens to all types of music from acid jazz to traditional qawwali but he always comes back to the foundations of rock including: Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Allman Brothers, Hendrix, SRV, Clapton, Grateful Dead, & Motley Crue. He plays primarily Fender Stratocasters through Bogner or Soldano amps and Marshall cabinets.
